Intracel - the radio frequency facelift

Intracel is a non-invasive treatment which utilises a new radio frequency technique to smooth wrinkles, tighten and lift the skin, giving defining anti-ageing results and has been dubbed the radio frequency facelift:

What is IntraCel?

Intracel is a treatment that combines micro-needling techniques with radio-frequency (RF) skin tightening to stimulate the production of collagen and elsastin to reduce wrinkles, tighten and tone the skin, and improve the appearance of open pores, thread veins and scarring.

What’s involved in Intracel treatment?

An Intracel treatment lasts around 40 minutes and should be virtually painless. First, an anaesthetic cream will be applied to the treatment area. Once this has taken effect, the Intracel device is moved over the skin, simultaneously releasing the insulated microneedles in short bursts and emitting a radio-frequency pulse. Both the microneedles and RF energy target deeper layers of the skin, while the skin’s surface remains undamaged. The RF energy shrinks collagen fibres between the outer skin layer and muscle layer via thermolysis, and this in turn stimulates fibroblasts necessary for the production of newer, stronger collagen. You may feel a little discomfort during the procedure and there may be pinprick bleeding.

How long will it take me to recover from Intracel treatment?

The treated area will be swollen and red after treatment, similar to sunburn. An ice pack can offer immediate relief and any inflammation and bruising should subside over the next day or two, although your skin may look pink for several days and become dry or flaky. You should apply sunscreen regularly after treatment to protect and moisturise your vulnerable skin.

Results are noticeable immediately but the full effect won’t be seen for a few weeks. A course of 2 or 3 treatments may be needed to get the best result.

What are the risks of Intracel treatment?

Some people with pre-existing medical conditions or regular medication may not be able to have Intracel treatment, so always check before booking. Intracel treatment carries a small risk of infection, bleeding and discolouration of the skin.

How much does Intracel treatment cost?

Prices for Intracel treatment range from £150 to £700 per session depending on the area to be treated, but you can often find discounts for a course of 3 treatments.
