What is Belotero?

Belotero is an injectable dermal filler that contains hyaluronic acid, a naturally-occurring substance in human skin. It consists of a biodegradable and biocompatible soft gel which it is claimed reduces the risk of allergic reaction. It can plump up the skin and increase hydration, smoothing out wrinkles. Some Belotero products also contain a local anaesthetic to make administration more comfortable.

What’s involved in a belotero treatment?

A Belotero treatment usually takes less than half an hour. The areas to be treated and you may be offered an anaesthetic cream to numb the areas to be treated, depending on which areas are being treated and whether you are having injections into the deeper layer of the skin. Then the Belotero product will be injected into the required areas, which may cause some mild discomfort. Afterwards the practitioner will massage the treated areas gently to distribute the Belotero gel.

How long will it take me to recover from a Belotero treatment?

As with all dermal filler treatments there may be some minimal swelling and bruising, but you will usually be able to go straight back to your usual activities after treatment. You should treat the injected area gently at first and avoid applying make-up for 24 hours. The results of Belotero treatment are immediately apparent and can be expected to last 8-12 months.

What are the risks of Belotero treatment?

Besides slight swelling and bruising, which is expected, you may get a little redness or itching. This usually settles in a day or two.

How much will a Belotero treatment cost?

Prices for Belotero treatment range from £180 to £450 per treatment, with an average fee of around £275.
