Laser Hair Removal
  • I have unwanted or excess hair
  • I want to permanently remove body hair

Laser hair removal uses bursts of laser light to remove unwanted hair on the body destroying the hair follicle, so the hair cannot grow back. This approach is very successful and is one of the most popular means of permanent hair removal.

Laser hair removal works by destroying the hair follicle, so the hair cannot grow back. This approach is very successful and is one of the most popular means of permanent hair removal.

During laser hair removal, powerful beams of light are directed at the unwanted hair follicles. The heat from the laser impedes the follicle’s ability to produce new hair and shrinks their overall size. Different hair and skin colours require different types of laser hair removal – the professional carrying out the procedure will be able to advise which is correct for your own skin and hair tone. Good results are possible across all skin tones and types but the best results are on those with fair skin but dark unwanted hair.

A course of six to 12 laser hair removal sessions will typically be required for long-term hair removal on the body and results will last from one to 10 years.

Most people undergoing laser hair removal will require a course of six to 12 sessions to remove the unwanted hair. It’s an appropriate procedure for removing excess hair and for those who simply desire a new look.

There are a range of different laser hair removal treatments available, suitable for all skin and hair tones. From blonde to brunette, pale to tanned, laser hair removal treatment can be adapted to suit your own individual colouring. Some treatments are suitable for a number of different hair and skin tones, but your anaesthetic consultant will be able to advise which one is most appropriate for you.

The actual cost of a laser hair removal procedure will depend on the area being treated. Smaller areas cost less – facial laser hair removal to get rid of unwanted hair on the upper lip costs around £40 - £55 for example, while a full leg treatment will cost £170 - £320. Expect to pay £75 - £140 approximately for laser hair removal on the chest.
