Laser Skin Resurfacing
  • I want to revitalise my skin
  • I don't like my wrinkles
  • I want to reduce the signs of ageing

Laser skin resurfacing slowly eradicates the damaged skin cells layer by layer & is a popular way to reduce imperfections on the skin & ease the signs of sun damage or ageing as it leaves a smoother, more uniform appearance in its place.

Laser skin resurfacing slowly eradicates the damaged skin cells layer by layer, working at a molecular level. It is a popular way to reduce imperfections on the skin and ease the signs of sun damage or ageing as it leaves a smoother, more uniform appearance in its place.

Special beams, or lasers, of thermal energy penetrate deep into the layers of the problem area of the skin. These beams of energy can precisely target the part of the skin that you are looking to improve, making for a very targeted treatment. Once the older, damaged layers of the skin have been removed, the body’s own healing reaction kicks in to create newer skin which is tighter, smoother and has fewer blemishes. The time this treatment takes will depend on the size of the targeted area undergoing laser skin resurfacing. A smaller area such as the chin or upper lip may take around 20 – 30 minutes to treat successfully.

This treatment can be used either on the full face or for specially selected target areas. A local anaesthetic is often used to accompany the procedure. It can take around 8 – 10 days to fully recover and bruising should be expected for around a fortnight.

Laser resurfacing is a great solution for those whose skin condition is not extreme enough to be considered a viable candidate for a face lift. It suits patients with a mild to moderate amount of skin laxity best. Anyone with large amounts of excess skin are advised to undergo a procedure such as a facelift, instead of laser resurfacing.

A small area will cost around £1,000, with a larger full face treatment rising to around £4,000.
