Mini Tummy Tuck
  • I have cellulite
  • I have stubborn pockets of fat

Partial abdominoplasty, also known as the mini tummy tuck, is, as the name suggests, a minor version of the standard tummy tuck which takes away any loose skin and tightens up the muscles.

Partial abdominoplasty, also known as the mini tummy tuck, is, as the name suggests, a minor version of the standard tummy tuck. It’s a more cost effective and quicker solution for those with a small amount of excess skin around the abdominal area. It is also a good option for people who have found their abdominal area sagging as they get older, or those who wish to sculpt their abs.

The surgery can be carried out under general anaesthetic to ensure you are sleeping and pain free, however it is usually done under local anaesthetic with mild sedation. The first step of the procedure is to make an incision in the abdomen, the length of this incision will be smaller than the one made in a standard tummy tuck but will ultimately depend on the amount of skin to be removed. During mini abdominoplasty, the navel area does not need to be disturbed, unlike in a standard tummy tuck.

Once your excess fat has been removed and the abdominal muscles adequately tightened, your skin will be stretched downwards and excess tissue cut away by the surgeon. The skin that remains will then be stitched into place.

Recovery time for the mini tummy tuck is shorter than the traditional tummy tuck method, with the patient released within just a few hours rather than a few days. It is likely you will experience some pain after the fact, but you should be able to go back to work after a few days. Patients are advised not to partake in any strenuous activity for a few weeks after a mini tummy tuck, however.

The mini tummy tuck only takes two to three hours. For further results it can be combined with contouring liposculpture procedures.

On average, the mini tummy tuck costs around £2,800.
